pho[to-Be]rlin is a photographic project that consists of a series of in-depth workshops held by award-winning international photo-reporters and open lectures offered to the audience. Through theoretical masterclasses and practical shooting, the participants develop their own reportages on issues related to Berlin, its people and stories, contributing to an on-going contemporary documentation shown in the annual Exhibition.

[to Be] in brackets underlines that the people attending the workshops have to focus, find stories and photograph in Berlin.

“Ten photographers in front of a sole subject will produce ten different images, because if it’s true that photography reproduce reality, it is revealed depending of the eye of the observer” Gisele Freund
